Abstract: This revision presents a list of 70 species of edible mushrooms, out of which 21 constitute new reports for Guatemala. The distribution of each species is given as well as photographs and a detailed description of 10 species. The current work is based on more than 600 collected specimens in 21 communities during 2001 and 2002. All specimens are deposited in the Herbarium of Guatemalan Macrofungi "Lic. Rubén Mayorga Peralta" at the Department of Microbiology of the Universidad de San Carlos in Guatemala. All species included in this work have been documented and are utilized traditionally as edible mushrooms in this country.
